1. Vata Dosha

Nature: Movement, circulation, speed. Formed of air and space elements.

Symptoms when aggravated: Dry skin, anxiety, joint pain, constipation.

Remedies:

  • Ashwagandha
  • Bala Taila (Vata oil) massage
  • Warm water bath
  • Tulsi tea
  • Ghee and butter-based diet

2. Pitta Dosha

Nature: Digestion, heat, metabolism. Formed of fire and water elements.

Symptoms when aggravated: Acidity, inflammation, anger, rashes.

Remedies:

  • Brahmi
  • Shatavari
  • Cooling foods like buttermilk and coconut water
  • Dhanwantari Taila massage
  • Cooling baths or moon bathing

3. Kapha Dosha

Nature: Stability, strength, immunity. Formed of earth and water elements.

Symptoms when aggravated: Lethargy, weight gain, excess mucus.

Remedies:

  • Trikatu (ginger, black pepper, long pepper)
  • Tulsi and drumstick leaves
  • Vachadi Taila for massage
  • Citrus fruits like lemon and amla
  • Drinking warm water

4. Acid vs Alkaline (Amla vs Kshara)

Acidic foods (Amla): Increase Pitta and may cause acidity and burning sensation.

Alkaline foods (Kshara): Help balance acidity and cool the system.

Examples of alkaline-balancing remedies:

  • Coconut water, spinach, cucumber, amla
  • Jeera (cumin) water
  • Avipattikar churna
